NEW BLOG

I am moving, no actually, we are moving… TO A NEW BLOG. Ever since I started this blog, I did not have any intention to leave. Nevertheless, after several years living the “couple” life, I find myself inclines more and more to the experiences that “we” share, the places that “we” come together, and the visions that “we” held dear in our hearts.  Although I would love to keep something for my own (like this blog), it would be an exhausting task to manage and run both sites at the same time. Hence, my husband and I decided to open a joined platform called ARTONSPACE, which also focuses on ART, DESIGN, TRAVEL, and coordinated as an online magazine. We hope this fresh start can bring about higher improvement and refinement either in content or images.

INTO THE GREEN

If the plants can talk, what would you think they may say? We, human, tend to assume that we are more advanced and more superior than the greenery as well as the animal kingdom. Our underestimate of mother nature has lead to fatal consequences since the dawn of human civilization. Many generations have cut down trees, destroy vast areas of forest to build factories, highways, and residences without hesitation. The natural world is defenseless in the prolonged battle with human greed and ignorance. We have turned vigorous plantations into soulless concrete structures which we are so proud about. The impacts of our modernization process, which went under the name of social development and community benefits, on ourselves are indescribable and uncontrollable. For instance, in the field of art, an obvious outcome is that nowaday artists prefer to stare at the computer screens and copy the images of nature rather than to step out and embrace the wonders of their surrounding environments.       Continue reading “INTO THE GREEN”

MIDNIGHT SUMMER DREAM

Fashion changes over time and so does perfume, however, spending a fortune on contemporary trending items is impractical and ludicrous. The fanciful illusion of the “IT” icon is so tempting to the consumers who are blind-folded by the material culture of today society. In fact, it is nothing but chasing rainbows. Similarly, the value of a certain perfume does not depend on the date it is realesed but the on the person who wears it. Launched in 2010, the Pure DKNY has been the statement for not only women revolution in Uganda but also the sustainability of the mother Earth.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE

PURE

The crystal sound of the word “Pure” reminds me of the untouched, unblemished, and unchanged bonds between those people who are soulmate. I might be an idealist, who puts her head on the clouds and her heart on the hands of her allies, when keep on believing in such a pure relationship that is becomeing a myth in today societies. A true friendship takes a long time and a lot of efforts to form and evolve, therefore, some folks would rather chose the shortcut of making friends temporarily and superficially which is base on the mutual short-term benefits. As a result, sincere people who fully aware of the sensitivity and impermanence of human attachment have turned themselves into delicate, vague, and surreal matters just like the magical jellyfishes. CENTRAL LIBRARY

One of the major shifts in the history of human civilazation is the birth of cities where people reoccupied themselves in the artificial environments and relinquished the deep-rooted bonds between them and mother nature. Although the cities implies many controversial issues regarding their impacts on human lives, the crowed population who live inside the boundary of skyscrapers, super-block buildings and well-planned parks is still in love with the cities. It is true that the citizens have to compensate either with thier own needs or the communities’ benefits in order to have harmonious settlements inside the limited spaces of cities. However, the municipalities also offers specific facilities that their residents can hardly find in other habitats; such as libraries, universities, theaters, art galleries, etc. Moreover, gorvenors, architects and other related authorities have revised the modern city planning theories with many years of both positive and negative experiences to revive the long-term relationship between humanbeing and nature.

VAMPIRE LOLLIPOP

Typically, having a big cup of lemonade with a lot of ice cubes in hot summer days is like reaching an oasis in the middle of a faraway desert. However, there are many other possibilities for summer treats rather than the conventional use of lemon and ice, for example lime, kiwifruit and condensed fruit juice. By the name of mentioned ingredients, you might think of fruity cocktails with gorgeous looks and irresistible tastes as obvious outcome. However, a lazy person as I am have the tendency to find the simplest and fastest ways to make fascinating beverages instead of going throught a lot of sophisticated steps in order to achieve state-of-the-art kinds of drink. As a result, the fruity ice pop is an excellent choice which does not require costly edible substances as well as expensive kitchen equipments, and all the preparing and making tasks can be completed within 15 minutes (time for taking photos is not included). I would love to share with you guys the recipice of my new summer treat, the Vampire Lollipop ❤ .

RED & EMERALD

What are your favourite colors? I have so many answers for this question, and the variable options will change in accordance with the four seasons as well as the personal moods. Usually, I am inclined to neutral tone because , most of the time, that innocuous hue of colors goes well with different styles of clothes and makeup. Nevertheless, this year, I would like to make an exception for these two brilliant colors, which are red and emerald, in order to revise my conventional dress-up routine.

SUMMER GETAWAY

What are the kinds of romantic vision that you always have in this hottest season? Getting lost in a certain tropical paradise with your beloved one, driving a shinny car on a road trip to the skyline or lying lazily under the summer sun that can turn a leaisure pool into a giant tanning bed. However, reality cannot be made of  the closed eyes and the opened minds of day dreamers. If the level of enjoyment is based on individual financial status, how can people with tight budget getaway from the boredom of  their staycation? Is it possible to have a great summer holiday with an affordable price and without stepping out your front door? Yes, it is, definitely!

THE FADED BEAUTY

Through million years of human evolution, mother Nature always shown us that the characteristics of beauty should be equal to vigorous, vibrant and vivid. This common sense had been planted in our fetal mind soon before our embryonic eyes reach the first sun light of our lives, it is a genetic heritage that has been passed down from generations to generations. Nevertheless, unlike the animals kingdom, human civilazations have distinctive standards which affect not only our ways of thinking but also our perceptions of beauty. Human sophisticated observation of the surrounding world has taught them how to treasure either the blushed checks of young maidens or the paled petals of mature roses.

DANDELION

“Like delicate florets of a dandelion, with the wind, we scatter around the world, look for fertile soil and thrive” a friend of mine once told me so. I would say it must be the fate of those who are struggling for meaningful lives not just common existences. Some might think that the glorious victories are meant for the strong but the rule of survival proved that in the toughest conditions, giant monsters ceased while small creatures evolved. Dandelion, a mundane flower grows on the side way, is too small to catch your attention and too modest to please your eyes. Nevertheless, although its tender stem keeps swinging in the air, its slender root stands still.
