INSIDE A LONG-STANDING CONDOMINIUM

There is a popular book called “Vietnam Style” which proudly stands on bookshelves of all the notable book stores in Sai Gon. It is a pleasure to know how exotic and even elegant our culture is in the eyes of foreign authors. However, the book might be a precious resource for academic objectives but outside the pages, life does flow a different stream. This picture best describes the other side of the active Sai Gon – Ho Chi Minh city where motorcycles are in great number than cars and old condominiums are the real stage of the youth.

THE “VISION QUEST”

It is believed that Native American religion connects to the nature and worship of nature by many Europeans as well as Americans. On the other hand, thorough researches show that the term “religion” is no longer right to describe the spiritual life style of Native American. It is important to keep an objective point of view while accessing other diverse cultures in the world.

Members of different Native American tribes is expected to contribute to their people as a part of the whole community. One of their duties is the idea called the “vision quest” which opens many worthwhile ways of thinking.

THE SILENT BEAUTY

“Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows

 Fair is the lily of the valley…”

You may all recognise that the quote stated above is from the lyrics of an Irish song named “Red is the rose”. Though I have heard many different versions of this beautiful melody, The High Kings’ performance is my most favourite one. Their voices can express the melancholy inside the song in a wonderful manner and almost like a chant (you know what I mean).
