HOW A VIETNAMESE WEDDING LOOKS LIKE

Have you ever wonder how dissimilar wedding celebrations in different countries are? Despite the fact that cultural interchanges happen all the time, there always be unique features which distinguish one from another. This is my first post after a long discrete time, I would like to introduce a review of my celebration which partly represents the traditional wedding in Vietnam.

Red is favourite color for most families when it comes to wedding due to a long-standing belief of luck and prosperity. However, with a right combination with other colors like pink and white, modern wedding decorations are not something intolerable.

Before the celebration can be operated, there are several long-standing beliefs that the groom has to do when asking for the bride from her parents. Serving tea is another beautiful ritual to welcome relatives of the groom when they present the offerings for the bride family.

This special event must be informed to the ancestor via incense and candles on a well-decorated table full of fresh flowers and fruits arranged beautifully. After this ritual has been finished the groom and bride truly become husband and wife.

As a part of globalization,a Vietnamese groom is able to choose between traditional costume or Western suit while almost every bride would love to wear “áo dài” with some innovative details in materials, colors or even the cutting patterns. One indispensable item is a set of ornamental golden pieces includes: round necklace, earrings and rings which can make the bride more gorgeous.

What a great write-up about Vietnamese wedding. It’s similar to Chinese weddings in that the colour red is everywhere, and the tea ceremony too. Never knew the bit about fresh flowers, I guess that’s more a Vietnamese tradition.

Congratulations to you, Khan, on your wedding. Best wishes to you and your husband. You two look so happy in the last photo. And of course, you look very beautiful. A day to remember 🙂 ❤

Congratulations! The attention to detail in the wedding decor is extraordinary. The vibrant red against pristine white makes your photos leap off the page…though perhaps that is your skill with a camera, too.

Thank you for sharing such gorgeous photos. I hope your day was as lovely as it looks.

Can we share our opinions ? :)
